Hi Families,
On Monday, we enjoyed a presentation from the Calgary Public Library about their Summer Reading Challenge. Students brought home some information about the challenge, or you can find more information here: https://calgarylibrary.ca/ultimate-summer-challenge/
In addition to the Summer Reading Challenge, the Calgary Public Library has a multitude of exciting FREE programs being offered this summer. From Coding to Bookmaking, Indigenous Drumming Circle to Biofacts, you can find out more about the Special Programs here: https://events.calgarypubliclibrary.com/programs/online-registration
Over the last couple of months, students developed their photography skills through a Seasonal Changes of Water photography study. All your child's photos are available online in their Google Drive. You will need their educbe.ca Username (email) and password to access their Drive at home. These are coming home in their bags tonight, recorded on their blue computer cards.
We enjoyed outdoor Phys. Ed. with our buddies this week, exploring the Play-and-Go Cart created by Ms. Arnold and Ms. Grant's classes for the Mayor's Expo this year. Thanks to these classes for creating such a wonderful resource for outdoor play!
Today, students cleaned out their cubbies and brought home the majority of their work books. Please look especially for their scrapbooks, which has photos from September and June on the cover, and an end of year reflection inside. We took time today to look back at our work from the beginning of the year, and each child found something to celebrate and be proud of.
We also celebrated our Summer Birthdays today. Happy Birthday to those students celebrating their birthdays in July and August! Thank you for bringing in treats to share with us!
Report cards will be coming home tomorrow. If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to contact me, I am happy to discuss your child's learning with you.
Thank you to all the families for an amazing year! I hope you have a safe, relaxing and FUN summer! See you in September!
Ms. Thomas
