In your child's mail folder tonight, please find a notice regarding our latest identity exploration: celebrations and traditions. This is the second-last component before we begin our culminating art project.
Students will be putting together the skills they are learning in art for developing a self-portrait, as well as connecting to an artist study for inspiration, and our lessons to understand their personal identity to develop something like this (I drew it quickly for the students today so they could understand where the artifacts and photos are ending up):
This is a VERY rough sketch of our final product: an Identity Portrait. Students will be completing a version of this project IN CLASS, so please continue to send in artifacts and photos ONLY. Thank you for supporting our multi-disciplinary exploration into identity!
