Reminders!

Hi Families,

Two important reminders as we head into the weekend...

Monday, November 11th is a statutory holiday for Remembrance Day. No school for students or staff.

Tuesday, November 12th are photo retakes for individual students. Please notify me if your child requires photo retakes. In addition, all classes will be having their class photo retaken due to a processing error.

Thank you!

What Memories...

Hi Families,

In your child's mail folder this evening, please find a sheet titled, "What Memories..."

This activity is kick-starting an inquiry that will lead our work over the next couple of months. Being able to identify and describe personal memories will be an important part of future components for our inquiry. Your support with this activity is greatly appreciated.

Please take some time over the next few days discussing different memories, and support your child in recording one for each area on the sheet.

Your child can record in pictures OR words, it is not expected that they do both. If recording in pictures, please assist your child in developing pictures they will be able to speak to once back in the classroom.

It would ideal if your child could return their sheet on Tuesday, November 12th.

Thank you for your support.

Ms. Thomas

Volunteer Google Doc

Hello Families,

I have created a Google Doc for volunteer opportunities this year. Please note that you must have a valid police clearance, and the office must have a copy on file. If you'd like to obtain your clearance for volunteer purposes, please come into the school office and they will assist you.

There is information within each section on the Google Doc specifying dates and task required. If you'd like to sign up for the posted dates, please email me at krthomas@cbe.ab.ca and I will update the document.

Here's the link for you to view the Google Doc:
https://docs.google.com/document/d/1YCG9AJ7GXG3cRTVkQpHNKwRGhgkJghF5s5flC8NcvtI/edit?usp=sharing

As always, if you have any questions, please let me know.

Thank you!
Ms. Thomas

Remembrance Day Assembly

Our Remembrance Day Assembly will be held this Friday at 10:30 am, hosted by our grade 5/6s.  We welcome families to attend. Poppies will be available as you enter the school and we thankfully welcome any poppy donations.

As you may already know, the Students In Action Club is holding a food drive for the Veteran Food Bank.  If you would like to make a donation to aid in showing our school community's generosity and appreciation, you may bring a non-perishable food item to the assembly or send it with your child on or before Friday, November 15th.

Food Drive for Veteran's Food Bank

Hello Parents and Families!

The LBS Students In Action Club is organizing a food drive this year, in order to help make a positive change in peoples’ lives.  All donations will be given to the Veteran Food Bank. We will be collecting non-perishable food items until Friday, November 15th. Our goal is to collect 500 food items! Please support our food drive and help show our appreciation and generosity to those who have served in the Canadian Forces.
